knitting series 401 : sketchbook hat
Join us in January for the start of our color work series using Berroco Lanus light yarn.
With a palette of 28 beautiful shades, the 100% wool sport weight Lanas Light yarn feels like opening up a new box of crayons.
First up we will be knitting the Sketchbook hat. This will be a three-part class to build your confidence in colorwork and explore your creativity with color in preparation for the sweater class.
The sketchbook hat is a classic bottom-up beanie with several brim options. It’s approx. 18" around designed to fit the average adult head. It offers 6 different designs to choose from and with 28 different colors in the Lanus yarn collection your design choice is endless!
The first class will be a planning session where you will have a chance to review all colors in the collection, plan your colorwork pattern on the blank charts included in the pattern book and create your own original designs. During this session you will also be able to place your order for the yarn.
This class is suitable for our intermediate knitters, you must be confident with knitting in the round and able to do rib stitch.
Required Materials:
- Berroco Lanus Light Yarn pattern book #435, available here
- Yarn - Berroco Lanus light, yardage will be dependent on the version you are knitting up. Once you have planned your design in the first class you will be able to order your required yarn.

- US 2 16" circular needle, available here
- US 3 double-pointed needles, available here

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hrs in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
