knitting 401 series: beginner brioche cowl

Are you an experienced knitter ready to learn to brioche? Brioche knitting is a distinctive knitted ribbing technique that is recognizable by its heightened, thick texture. It is achieved by alternating columns of slipped stitches with yarnovers and knit or purl stitches

We will be knitting up the beginner's brioche cowl by Lavanya Patricella. This pattern has been designed especially for beginners that want to learn brioche and whilst learning this new skill you will come away with the coziest cowl for the Winter months. 

This is a two-week series but there will be the need for homework in order to finish your project.  

Required Materials:

- pattern - Beginners brioche cowl by Lavanya Patricella, purchase from Ravelry here. 
- yarn - (2) colors are required, the pattern calls for a bulky yarn: we recommend either Malabrigo Mecha or Berroco Vintage chunky. . You will need 106yds of color A and 90yds of color B. 

Required tools: 

- Needles US 11 - 16” circular needle - (available here)
- Ring markers (available here) 
- Locking stitch markers (available here)
- Chibi tapestry needle (available here) 
- Scissors (selection available here )
- Tape measure
- Notebook & pencil

Please have yarn wound and ready to be knit with at the start of the class.
