knitting series 301 : felix sweater



The Felix pattern by Amy Christoffers is the perfect cropped top-down raglan sweater designed to wear layered with tunics and dresses- the sweater also works perfectly with high waisted pants. The sweater has added detail with an eyelet motif incorporated into the raglan increases

If the cropped style is not for you, ensure to try the sweater on before you begin the ribbing, so you have your perfect length. 

During this class you will learn the following skills: 

- longtail cast on 
- how to read a simple lace pattern
- how to join your work seamlessly
- left & right leaning increases to create the raglan shaping
- tips on how to keep track of progress and choosing the right size
- weaving in ends and blocking your finished sweater 

Pattern available in the following finished chest measurements 39, 43 ½, 48, 52 ½, 57”

There will be some pre-work for the class which will be sent out in advance. 

Required Materials:

-Worsted Aran weight yarn: yardage dependent on the size of sweater you are knitting. 
We recommend the following yarn: Cascade 220, Cascade Eco, Borocco Vintage, Borocco Vintage Chunky, Malabrigo RiosCascade Pacific.
The required yardage will depend on the size you are knitting up, please refer to the pattern.

Required tools: 

The pattern calls for the following needles, however this will be subject to the gauge swatch done prior to class to ensure you have the correct gauge for the pattern. 

-US 10 -”16" and 24" circular needles
-US 8 - 16” and 24” circular needles. 
-US 5 - 24" circular needles 

-Ring markers (available here )
-Locking stitch markers (available here
-Chibi tapestry needle (available here
-Tape measure
-Scissors (selection available here
-Knit Chek (gauge ruler) (available here )
-Notebook & pen
-Highlighter pen (optional)

Please have yarn wound and ready to be knit with at the start of the class.

This is an intermediate knitting class, students must be confident in casting on, knit, purl, completed previous in the round projects (hat or cowl) advantageous but not essential, casting or binding off.

Cancellation Policy:

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hrs in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot.  Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.

No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hrs in advance. By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy
