knitting series 201 : simple cowl

This class is a great next step for new knitters. Suitable for those who have completed our 101 knitting or know how to knit & purl confidentially.

You will learn how to knit in the round, using knit & purl stitches to create a fun cowl for the winter.  Choose a colorful, multi colored or self striping yarn for a quick & fun project that will make a great gift. 

In class students will also learn how to:
- long tail cast on
- joining work in the round seamlessly
- knit and purl in the round.

There will be homework involved in order to finish your project.  Instructed by Juliet McDonnell. 

Required Materials:

- pattern - simple yet effective cowl from Tin Can Knits. Download for free  Simple Yet Effective pattern | Tin Can Knits
- yarn - worsted weight yarn - 1 ball or skein of yarn approx 220yds, such as Cascade 220 wool, available here

 
Required tools: 

- Needles US 8 - 16” circular needle (available here )
- Ring markers (available here) 
- Locking stitch markers (available here)
- Chibi tapestry needle (available here) 
- Scissors (selection available here )
- Tape measure
- Notebook & pencil

Please have yarn wound and ready to be knit with at the start of the class.
