quilting series: christmas barn star pillow
Get a head start on your holiday quilting projects this November and join Pat in the studio to make the Christmas Barn Star Pillow by Tipsy Needle. This gorgeous holiday inspired pillow compliments any living room or bedroom during the holiday season!
This project uses traditional piecing methods to make a beautiful barn star with a pine tree in the center and accent blocks surrounding it. Finished pillow is 20"x20".
This class is recommended for our Quilting 101 and Quilting 201 graduates, or for those who have prior quilting experience and are confident in operating a sewing machine independently. Students may be required to complete homework in between classes in order to finish their pillow on time.
Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Christmas Barn Star Pillow by Tipsy Needle
- (1) Project Kit: Christmas Barn Star Pillow
- (1) 20" pillow form
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
Alternatively, if you do not wish to purchase a Project Kit, you will need:
- (1) Pattern: Christmas Barn Star Pillow by Tipsy Needle
- 3/8yd background fabric
- (1) fat quarter for corner blocks fabric (pink fabric on pattern cover)
- (1) fat quarter for side blocks (red fabric on pattern cover)
- 10" x 10" square for tree (green fabric on pattern cover)
- 2" x 3" scrap for tree trunk
- 5/8 yd fabric for back of pillow
- 1/4 yd binding fabric
- (1) 24" x 46" piece of batting
- 1 yd of muslin
- (1) 20" pillow form
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
Required Tools:
- rotary cutter
- acrylic ruler
- pins and/or clips
- seam ripper
- chalk or frixion pen

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hours in advance. By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
