bag series: haralson bag
Join Mollie in the studio this July to make The Haralson Bag by Noodlehead!
The Haralson is a belt bag that is perfect for everyday use. Not only is it compact, but it's easy to wear across the front or back of the body, making it the perfect belt bag for travel. Haralson has a handy back zippered pocket which is perfect for storing your cellphone, and a spacious interior with a zippered pocket inside, perfect for storing your credit cards and cash. The pattern has multiple flap hardware closure options, however in this class we'll be teaching the turn lock option. The finished bag measures 9-1/2" wide x 2" deep x 7" tall.
Class will start off with a cutting session on Wednesday, July 9th, leaving Thursdays, July 10th + 17th for bag construction. This class is suitable for intermediate level students who have prior bag making experience. Students must be able to confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently.
Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Haralson Bag by Noodlehead
- exterior fabric: (1) fat quarter
- lining fabric: 1/2 yd (for a non-directional print) or 2/3 yd (for directional print)
- accent fabric (flap): (1) fat quarter of 1/4 yd
- 1-3/4 yds of Pellon SF101 (not needed if you are using dry oil skin canvas)
- 1-1/2 yd of 1" wide cotton webbing or leather strapping
- (1) 6" zipper for interior pocket
- (1) 8" zipper for back pocket
- (2) 1" wide D-rings
- (1) 1" wide strap slider
- (2) 1" wide swivel snaps
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
Recommended Fabrics:
- exterior fabric: quilting cotton, canvas, oil skin canvas, chambray or linen
- lining fabric: quilting cotton
- accent fabric: faux leather, canvas, or oil skin canvas
Required Tools:
- rotary cutter + acrylic ruler or fabric scissors
- pins and/or wonder clips
- seam ripper
- seam gauge
- chalk or frixion pen
- tape measure
Cancellation Policy:
If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hours in advance. By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
