garment series: prym apron
In this class, students will learn how to use the Prym VARIO Creative Tool - an innovative, multi-functional tool that punches holes, attaches snaps, and applies eyelets and rivets- while they make a beautiful apron. This is a must-have tool set for makers that want to add professional hardware to their bags, garments, home decor projects, and more.
This apron has been specially designed so that you can get the most of your Prym VARIO tool as you make a useful project. You'll learn how to use the tool to install both eyelets and rivets on this reversible apron with pockets on both sides and adjustable cross-back straps.
This class is FREE, but students will be required to purchase the Prym Project Pack which includes the tool, tool attachments, and all hardware needed for the project. Students must also supply necessary fabric and other notions described below.
Finished apron measures 25" wide x 35" long.
This class is suitable for advanced beginner to intermediate level students who can confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently.
Required Materials:
- (1) Project Kit: Prym Apron - included in kit: (1) VARIO Creative Tool, (1) Tool Set for Tubular Rivets, (1) Tool Set for Eyelets with Washers, (10) Tubular Rivets, (4) Eyelets with Washers, (2) Dritz Large Hook & D-Ring Set
- for apron front + pocket lining: if non-directional, 1 yd of quilting cotton; if directional, 1-1/4 yd of quilting cotton
- for apron back + ties: if non-directional, 1 yd of quilting cotton; if directional, 1-1/4 yd of quilting cotton
- for cross back cover + pocket fronts: 3/8 yd of quilting cotton
- 1/8 yd of Pellon 987F fusible fleece
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
Required Tools:

- acrylic ruler
- rotary cutter
- fabric marking tool
- pins or wonder clips
- sewing gauge
- tape measure
- fabric glue stick
