bag series: poolside tote
Arrive to the pool in style this Summer with your new favorite handmade bag - The Poolside Tote by Noodlehead! Join Erin in the studio for a 4-week session starting this July to make your very own.
The Poolside Tote will have you all ready for your Summer adventures. It's a great bag to show off all your favorite fun, bright fabric prints. Not only is this bag roomy enough to store your towel, favorite snacks, and a good book in the main compartment, but its exterior zipper pocket and slip pocket keeps your keys, phone, and wallet safe, secure, and easily accessible while you relax and catch a tan.
The finished dimensions of this tote are 7-1/2" D x 14-1/2" wide across the base, 14-1/2" tall and 23-1/2" wide including the handles.
During this class, students will practice sewing with zippers, installing bag hardware, and making fabric handles. This class is suitable for intermediate level students who have prior bag making experience. Students must be able to confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently.
Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Poolside Tote by Noodlehead
- (1) Project Kit: Poolside Tote
Alternatively, if you do not wish to purchase a Project Kit, you will need:
- (1) Pattern: Poolside Tote by Noodlehead
- 1-1/4 yds of exterior fabric
- 1-1/4 yds of lining fabric
- 3/4 yd of accent fabric (handles + pocket lining)
- (1) 4-1/2" piece of 1" wide twill tape
- 2-3/4 yds of Pellon SF101 - additional yardage may be needed if you are using quilting cotton for the bag exterior
- (1) 1" swivel clasp or (1) 1" D-Ring
- (1) 10" metal zipper
- (1) spool of thread
- optional: 5/8 yd of Soft & Stable - for a more structured finish
Recommended Fabrics:
- exterior fabric: canvas, denim, heavy linen or quilting cotton
- lining + accent fabric: quilting cotton
Required Tools:
- rotary cutter or fabric scissors
- acrylic ruler
- seam ripper
- pins and/or clips
- chalk or frixion pen

If you are unable to attend, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist for the class, AND we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hours in advance. By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
