Never again will the bottom of your beach bag be full of sand! Join Erin in the studio this Summer to make the Brandt Beach Bag by Studio M Squared!
This bag is roomy enough to stash towels, a change of clothes, sunblock, reading materials and more so you're all set with the essentials for a perfect beach day. Brandt features six exterior pockets, an attached interior zippered pocket to store your cellphone and keys, and sturdy webbing straps making it easy to carry over your shoulder. Not to mention, the mesh exterior prevents bringing all the sand home with you! Plus, it's lightweight and folds easily to fit in your suitcase.
During class, students will learn basic bag construction, will learn how to sew with mesh fabric, and will work with webbing straps, as well as make a zippered pocket.
This class is suitable for advanced beginner students who have taken our Sewing 101 Intensive class or have an equivalent experience level. Ideally, students will have completed at least (3) sewing projects prior to registering for this class. Students must be able to confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently.
Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Brandt Beach Bag by Studio M Squared
- (1) Project Kit: Brandt Beach Bag
Alternatively, if you do not wish to purchase a Project Kit, you will need:
- (1) piece of 24"x42" of lightweight mesh fabric
- main fabric (pockets, trim, and bindings): 1 yd of quilting cotton
- accent fabric (pocket linings): 3/4 yd of quilting cotton
- 3-7/8 yds of 1-1/2" wide cotton webbing (for straps)
- 1-1/3 yd of Pellon SF101
- (1) 9" zipper
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
Required Tools:
- fabric scissors
- rotary cutter
- seam ripper
- point turner
- chalk or frixion marker
- pins and/or clips

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist for class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hours in advance. By registering for this class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
