garment series: azure skirt + top

We absolutely love one of Closet Core's newest pattern releases - the Azure - and we know you will love it too! Join Erin in the studio this August to make your very own top and skirt set.
With five distinct views, the Azure is a pattern powerhouse! Azure features a dress and skirt in two lengths and a separate sleeveless top that you'll love mixing and matching pieces for the perfect Summer outfit. The Azure bodice is semi-fitted with a jewel neckline and button closure in the back and can be lined or finished with an all-in-one facing. The skirt is striking with alternating diagonal gathered panels and can be worn on its own or integrated into a breezy tiered dress.
In this class, we will be making View C (the top) and View E (the skirt). View C is a cropped, sleeveless top that hits just below the natural waist. View E is a maxi-length skirt with an elasticized back and three tiers that ends below the ankle. Please Note: the pattern accommodates Sizes 0-20 (Paper) and Curve Sizes 14-32 (PDF only).
We'll start off with a cutting session on Friday, August 1st from 6pm-8:30pm, leaving Saturdays, August 2nd + 16th from 10am-4pm for garment construction.
Important Note - Cutting Session:
Due to the timing of the class, in the cutting session we will be cutting directly off the pattern. There is no time to trace the pattern in class due to the amount of pattern pieces, however if you prefer to trace the pattern rather than cut it, you will need to complete this step at home prior to the cutting session and arrive to the cutting session prepared (meaning with your pattern traced out). If you have any questions, please email classes@urbansewciety.com.
This 2-weekend class is suitable for advanced level students who have significant prior garment sewing experience. Ideally, students will have already successfully sewn at least five garments to completion prior to attending this class. Students must be able to confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently.
