garment series: weekend chore shorts

Looking to make your new favorite pair of shorts? We've got you covered! Join our talented garment instructor, Erin, this June to make the Weekend Chore Shorts by Matchy Matchy!
The Weekend Chore shorts are a loose fitting, stylized utility short with fun pocket details. These shorts feature a high-rise, gathered elastic waist, a 3-1/4" inseam, and roomy apron-style front and back pockets that match at the side seams. They are intended to be loose in the hip and more cinched at the waist, and have a lot of ease built in to provide a comfortable, roomy fit. The Weekend Chore Shorts are designed to look great in a single fabric, or if you're feeling adventurous you can make them in a patchwork style! The pattern offers a range of sizes, ranging from XXS-6XL.
We will start off this class with a cutting session on Wednesday, June 25th from 6:30pm-8:00pm. This class session will be dedicated to cutting out and preparing the fabric needed for class. We will spend Saturday, June 28th from 10:00am-3:00pm constructing the shorts from start to finish. During this class, students will learn garment sewing techniques that include top stitching, basic hemming, how to make patch pockets, and how to work with elastic casing.
This class is suitable for advanced beginner to intermediate level students who have prior garment sewing experience. Ideally, students will have sewn at least two garments to completion prior to this class. Graduates of our Garment 101 class are encouraged to give these shorts a go!
