bag series: casablanca tumbler

Join Deb in the studio to make the Casablanca Tumbler by Sallie Tomato!  We're offering this class as a 3-week Friday afternoon session starting in February, or an all-day Saturday class in March - choose the option that works best for you!

This innovative carry-all is the stylish solution for staying hydrated and carrying your essentials while you're on-the-go.  The adjustable strap ensures a comfortable fit, whether you're off to the gym, exploring the outdoors, or navigating your daily errands.  The cellphone and zipper pocket make this a must-have accessory for an active lifestyle.  There are so many fun features to this tumbler bag, including a removable pocket with zipper closure, adjustable webbing strap, and a shoulder pad.  It's the perfect size to carry your 40 oz. water containers!

In class, we will be making the carry-all size which is 4-1/2" wide, 9" high, and 3" deep. This class is suitable for intermediate students that have prior bag making experience, including sewing with zippers experience.

Important Note: Please do not cut your fabric ahead of the class.  You will cut your fabric under the guidance of your instructor in the beginning of class. 

Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Casablanca Tumbler by Sallie Tomato
- main fabric (exterior and pocket) - 3/8 yd  quilting cotton, canvas or linen
- webbing: 5/8 yd of 1" wide webbing for strap connectors
- webbing: 1-1/2 yds of 1-1/2" wide webbing for adjustable strap
- 3/4" wide fold-over elastic (for binding): 3-1/2 yds
- (1) Mesh Kit: this kit includes pre-cut air-mesh, pre-cut Velcro, and fun project label for your tumbler!
- (2) 1" D-Rings
- (2) 1" swivel hooks
- (2) 1-1/2" swivel hooks
- (1) 1-1/2" slider buckle
- single slide nylon coil zippers: (1) 6" and (1) 10" (do not use metal zippers)
- 40 wt. polyester thread

Required Tools:
- rotary cutter or fabric scissors
- acrylic ruler
- seam ripper
- stiletto
- pins or clips
- chalk or frixion marker
- basting tape or glue

If you are unable to attend, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist for the class, AND we are able to fill your spot.  Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.

No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hours in advance. By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
