quilting series: pumpkin placemats

Join Deb or Mandy in the studio this October for a fun and quick quilting project!

Dress up your dining table for fall with these handmade pumpkin placemats. Grab a few fat quarters in coordinating autumnal colors, then add interfacing and batting for stiffness. Mix in a little topstitch thread, and you’ve got a recipe for holiday sewing success. Super quick and easy to make, these placemats will give your guests pumpkin’ to talk about! 

This class is suitable for beginner students who have prior sewing experience.  Graduates of our Sewing 101 and Quilting 101 class are encouraged to register.

Required Materials: (to make four placemats)
- (1) Pattern: Give 'Em Pumpkin to Talk About by Studio M Squared
- (4) FQ, one per placemat
- 1 yd of backing fabric
- (1) craft size package of batting (36" x 45")
- 3 yds of Pellon SF101
- topstitch thread in coordinating colors

Recommended Fabrics:
We suggest using woven fabrics such as quilting cotton, linen and linen blends, or lightweight denim.

Required Tools:
- fabric scissors
- paper scissors
- chalk or frixion marker
- pins or clips

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
