bag series: simple tote
Calling all beginner sewists! You've just graduated from Sewing 101 and are looking for your next project to make - how about adding a handmade tote bag to your resume? Join us to make the Simple Tote by our in-house brand, Studio M Squared!
The Simple tote is a stylish, fully lined tote bag featuring an exterior slip pocket to safe keep your personal items, such as your cellphone, keys or wallet. You can personalize this tote to showcase your personality and run errands in style. It also works great as a beach bag for your towel, a good book, and sunscreen. The finished bag dimensions are 15” wide at top, 12.5” wide at bottom, 12.5" tall, and 2.5" deep.
This is a great class for beginner sewists to build off the skills learned in Sewing 101, while learning even more useful techniques that will advance your sewing capabilities. Students must have taken our Sewing 101 or have an equivalent experience level in order to take this class.
Required Materials: available for purchase in our shop!
- (1) Pattern: Tote-ally Easy Tote Pattern by Studio M Squared
- main fabric for bag exterior: 3/4 yd of quilting cotton or canvas
- lining fabric for inside the bag and pocket accent: 3/4yd of quilting cotton
- 2 yds of fusible interfacing (such as Pellon SF101)
- (1) spool of all-purpose thread

Recommended Fabric:
- We suggest using medium weight fabrics, such as quilting cottons or canvas.

- chalk or frixion pen
Cancellation Policy:
If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hours in advance. By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
