bag series: brandt beach bag
We're SO excited to introduce the Brandt Beach Bag, the newest pattern release by our in-house brand, Studio M Squared! Join us in the studio to make your very own this Summer... we're offering this class as a 1-day afternoon session or a 2-week evening series - choose the session that works best for you!
This bag is roomy enough to stash towels, a change of clothes, sunblock, reading materials and more so you're all set with the essentials for a perfect beach day. Brandt features six exterior pockets, an attached interior zippered pocket to store your cellphone and keys, and sturdy webbing straps making it easy to carry over your shoulder. Not to mention, the mesh exterior prevents bringing all the sand home with you! Plus, it's lightweight and folds easily to fit in your suitcase.
During class, students will learn basic bag construction, working with webbing and sewing with mesh, as well as making a zippered pocket. This class is suitable for advanced beginner students who have taken our Sewing 101 Intensive class or have an equivalent experience level. Students must be able to confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently.
Required Materials: all available for purchase in our shop
- (1) Pattern: Brandt Beach Bag by Studio M Squared
- (1) piece of 24"x42" of lightweight mesh fabric
- main fabric (pockets, trim, and bindings): 1 yd of quilting cotton
- accent fabric (pocket linings): 3/4 yd of quilting cotton
- webbing for straps - 3-7/8 yds
- Pellon SF101: 1-1/3 yd
- (1) 9" zipper
- (1) spool of coordinating thread

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist for class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hours in advance. By registering for this class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
