one day workshop: color confidence with stacy lute

One of the most common things we hear from quilters, especially beginners, is that they struggle to pick fabrics for their projects!  Fabric selection can make all the difference in creating a quilt that is interesting and cohesive.

Join us for a one-day workshop with guest instructor Stacy Lute to learn all about the elements of color combination and how to select fabrics.  Stacy has been quilting for over 30 years and travels across the country to teach the beauty of color in a whole new light to all levels of quilters. Whether you're a new or experienced quilter, you WILL learn something new in this class.

During this workshop, Stacy will deep dive into the elements of color, highlighting each specific element with an example. These elements include Hue, Value, Saturation and Clarity. Stacy will demonstrate how to use each of these elements when choosing your fabric for your quilting + sewing projects. Students will create visual representations of each element using leftover scraps from their own stash pile, while learning how using harmony and contrast can affect the overall outcome and feel of the quilt.

Required Materials:
- a large selection of fabric scraps from your stash in a variety of colors and values - 2" squares or smaller work perfect

- notepad + pen for taking notes
- color wheel - if you do not have one, you can purchase one on the day of the class
