The Adventureland Quilt is a great, modern quilt for advanced beginner to intermediate quilters. lt will brighten the mood in any living space in your home. The pattern offers four sizes, including a baby, throw, twin and queen size option. The baby and throw quilt sizes are jelly-roll friendly, making it a fun project to use with your favorite jelly-roll bundle. We encourage students to get creative with their fabric selections, as you can achieve very different looks depending on the hues and design your fabric. Our staff is more than happy to assist you with your coordinating fabric selections.
Please note, we will only be making the quilt top in class, leaving students to finish the remainder of the quilt at home or during one of our Quilting Labs.
During this 4-week class, students will learn strip piecing techniques, accurate cutting, and sewing on the bias. This class is suitable for graduates of our Quilting 101 class or have an equivalent experience level. Students must know how to confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently and know the basics of quilting.
Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Adventureland Quilt by Suzy Quilts (PDF download)
- quilting cotton fabric - see below for fabric requirements for each size
- (1) spool of Aurifil 50 wt thread - available to purchase in the shop
Fabric Requirements - Queen Size (90"x103"):
- 1 yd of (4) coordinating colors
- 3/4 yd of (2) coordinating colors
- 5/8 yd of (4) coordinating colors
- 2 yds of background fabric
- to finish the quilt, you will need 3/4 yds of binding fabric, and 8-1/4 yds of backing fabric
Fabric Requirements - Twin Size (76"x89"):
- 3/4 yd of (2) coordinating colors
- 5/8 yd of (2) coordinating colors
- 1/2 yd of (6) coordinating colors
- 1-3/4 yds of background fabric
- to finish the quilt, you will need 5/8 yds of binding fabric, and 7 yds of backing fabric
Fabric Requirements - Throw Size (60"x60"): - jellyroll friendly!
- (1) jellyroll OR..
- 3/8 yd of (10) coordinating colors
- 1 yd of background fabric
- to finish the quilt, you will need 1/2 yds of binding fabric, and 3-7/8 yds of backing fabric
Fabric Requirements - Baby Size (42"x42"): - jellyroll friendly!
- (1) jellyroll OR..
- 3/8 yd of (6) coordinating colors
- 1/4 yd of (2) coordinating colors
- 5/8 yds of background fabric
- to finish the quilt, you will need 3/8 yd of binding fabric, and 2-3/4 yds of backing fabric
Required Tools:
- rotary cutter
- fabric scissors + thread scissors
- 6" x 24" ruler
- seam ripper
- chalk or frixion marker
- pins and/or clips

If you are unable to attend, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist for the class, AND we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
