bag series: market bag
One can never have too many tote bags, and we think the Market Bag by Noodlehead will be your next favorite tote in your handmade bag collection. Join our instructor Mandy to make your very own this June!
Reminiscent of a vintage rattan picnic bag, Noodlehead's Market Bag is a quilted bag that has a classic tote shape you will "tote-ally" love. The bag has a casual, yet sophisticated look and is large enough to carry everything you need. Using muted or bright colors can really change the feel of this bag - muted fabrics give it a more calm, natural look, whereas bright and bold fabrics really make it pop. Using some fabric scraps for your stash pile can be a fun option too!
The Market Bag features a handy zippered compartment inside that secures your keys or spare change. The leather straps add beauty and durability. This bag is perfect for any outdoor adventure this summer - bring it with you for a picnic in the park with friends, a relaxing day by the pool, or use it as a grocery bag at your next local farmers market outing. It's roomy enough to store larger items, such as a lightweight blanket, towel, or even your laptop and books. The bag's finished dimensions are 23" wide x 12" tall x 7" deep.
During class, students will practice their accurate cutting skills, quilting and patchwork skills, and will learn how to sew a round bottom on a bag. This class is suitable for our intermediate students who have prior quilting experience. Students must be able to confidently thread + operate a sewing machine independently.
We're offering this class as a 4-week morning series or an all-day Saturday class - choose which session works best for you! (Note: if you choose the weekend option, there is a cutting session on Friday, June 21st - this is an opportunity to cut out your fabric under the guidance of your instructor. If you choose the 4-week morning series class, the cutting session will be included in the first class).
