let's kick it! make your own sneakers

Time to add cobbler to your résumé, because we’re making our own sneakers in this course! Add some flare to your wardrobe with a totally unique quilted pair of sneaks. During class, students will learn shoemaking skills including how to install eyelets, make laces, quilt fabric with foam, and hand stitch the shoe body to the soles.  This class is being offered as a 3-week morning session or a 2-day weekend intensive - choose which session works best for you!

You may choose to make the high-rise, mid-rise or low-rise sneaker options.

Required Materials: 
- exterior fabric: 1/2 yd quilting cotton or canvas
- lining fabric: 1/2 yd quilting cotton or canvas
- accent fabric (laces): 1/3 yd of quilting cotton
- foam stabilizer: 1/2 yd of by annie's soft n’ stable

 Required Materials you must purchase directly from Tandy Leather: 
- (1) sneaker kit - this kit comes with (outsoles, insoles, patterns + instructions) 
- (1) sewing awl thread reel 
- (1) 3/16” package of eyelets
- (1) 3/16” eyelet setter 

Required Tools:
- 3/16" eyelet puncher or leather punch tool 
- hammer
- thimble (will be available in our shop soon) 
- point turner tool
- frixion pen

Cancellation Policy:
If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist for class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
