bag series: pebble sling
Who doesn't love a versatile bag?! Join us in the studio to make the Pebble Sling by Kandou Crafts. This is a super practical, on-trend design with lots of great features. The unique design of this bag and its detachable straps make it possible to wear in three different ways. Wear it with one strap as a trendy mini-sling/crossbody purse or a conventional shoulder bag, or add the second strap and wear it as a mini backpack!
The sling features both an interior and exterior slip pocket that keeps your belongings tidy, while also featuring an exterior zipper pocket that is perfectly sized to store your cellphone, a small wallet, or keys. The finished product is a beautiful quality bag, fully lined with internal bound seams that give structure and strength to it. The finished sling measures 9" tall x 7" wide x 2.5" deep, while the adjustable strap maximum length is 49".
This class is suitable for intermediate sewists who have prior bag making experience.

Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Pebble Sling by Kandou Crafts - available on Etsy - this is PDF download that must be purchased and printed at home before class
- main fabric for the whole bag: 1/2 yd - OR - to use a contrast (like as shown in our photo) main fabric: (1) fat quarter; contrast: (1) fat eighth
- lining fabric: 3/4 yd
- 20" fusible woven interfacing (Pellon SF101): 1 yd
- 36" low-loft fusible fleece (Pellon 987F): 1-3/4 yd
- 1/2" double fold bias binding tape: 2-1/4 yds
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
- 20" of zipper tape plus 3 zipper pulls - OR - (1) 6" zipper and (1) 12" zipper (metal or nylon)
- 1" wide webbing: 3 yards
- (5) 1" D-Rings
- (2) 1" metal sliders
- (4) 1" swivel hooks
- (1) 5/8" or 1/2" snap fastener
Recommended Fabrics:
- main fabric: medium-weight 8-10oz such as canvas, denim, corduroy, or cotton twill. for contrast you can also use faux leather
- lining: light to medium-weight woven fabric such as quilting cotton
Required Tools:
- fabric scissors
- acrylic ruler and rotary cutter
- seam ripper
- seam gauge
- chalk and/or frixion pen

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
