sewing series: fabric storage basket

Dress up your shelves with this fun-to-construct basket by Noodlehead.  In no time, you can have a shelf of baskets lined up, made with fabric YOU love. Think bold and beautiful when making your fabric selections - this basket is big enough that a large-scale print really gets a chance to shine! From fabric scraps and craft supplies to toiletries - the storage possibilities are endless. The basket features sturdy leather handles that give it a professional, finished look that'll fit any decor.

Basket finished dimensions are: 9" tall x 10" wide x 11" deep.

This class is suitable for intermediate students who can confidently operate a sewing machine independently.

Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Basket in "Handmade Style" Book by Noodlehead* (please see note below)
- exterior fabric: 1/2 yd of 54" wide fabric or 2/3 yd of 44" wide medium-weight cotton fabric
- lining fabric: 3/4 yd quilting cotton
- handle covers: 12" square of quilting cotton or similar weight fabric
- fusible stabilizer: 1-1/2 yd of Pellon Peltex 71F
- 1/8 yd of Pellon SF101 fusible interfacing
- 1/2" wide leather strapping: 16" long
- (1) spool of coordinating thread

*Pattern Note: The pattern is included in Anna Graham's (Noodlehead) book "Handmade Style".  Purchasing the book is optional, but if you want to have a pattern to follow along with during class you must purchase the book. The book is available for purchase in our shop!

Recommended Fabric:
We recommend using quilting cotton, canvas or linen for this project. We have a wide selection of fabrics available for purchase in our shop. Our staff is more than happy to help you with your fabric selections!

Required Tools:
- rotary cutter
- acrylic ruler
- chalk and/or frixion pen
- turning tool

If you are unable to attend, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist for the class, AND we are able to fill your spot.  Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.

No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hours in advance. By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
