knitting 201: cast-on techniques

Hey knitters! Are you looking to advance your techniques and skills? Join us for a cast-on technique class to learn six different cast-on techniques that will take you far in your knitting journey!
Casting on is a basic skill every knitter needs to know in order to start any project. There are many ways to cast-on; in this class, your instructor Mandy will demonstrate how to do six different cast-on techniques and explain the appropriate time to use each of them.
The cast-on techniques to be taught are:
- knit cast-on
- backwards loop cast-on
- cable cast-on
- German twisted cast-on
- 2 types of provisional cast-ons
This class is suitable for graduates of our Knitting 101 class, or those who have an equivalent skill level. Students must already know how to do a basic long tail cast-on.
Required Materials:
- scrap yarns for practicing cast-on techniques: light colored, worsted weight yarn in 2 different colors
Recommended Worsted Weight Yarn:
- Cascade Nifty Cotton
- Cascade 220
- Malabrigo Rios
- Berocco Vintage
Required Tools:
- US 8 single point needles

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
