garment series: mabel dress

Get ready for all the compliments this Spring with this dreamy Mabel Dress or Blouse by Tilly and the Buttons! We love this dress for the warmer months ahead and we know you will too! Join us in the studio on Tuesday evenings in April to sew up your next Spring wardrobe essential!

The Mabel Dress/Blouse features a square-shaped elasticated neckline with a pretty frill, keyhole opening and faux drawstring ties. The dress offers full-length or elbow-length sleeves, with deep shirred cuff or narrow shirred cuff with frill hem. Voluminous raglan sleeves elasticated around the shoulders give this dress a beautiful, dramatic finish. Students can choose to make it as a midi-length dress or a peplum blouse! This surely will be your favorite go-to garment with the upcoming warmer months coming our way.

During this 5-week class, students will learn how the technique of shirring and how to sew elastic casings. This class is suitable for advanced beginner to intermediate students with some garment sewing experience. Perfect for our graduates of our Garment 101 class. Students must be able to confidently operate a sewing machine independently.
