garment series: carolyn pajama set

Interested in creating your very own pajamas? Join Erin in the studio this November to sew up the Carolyn Pajamas by Closet Core! This comfortable fit is slim but relaxed and is stylish enough to wear outside the house if sewn in a beautiful cotton!

Designed for chic lounging, the Carolyn Pajamas are classically tailored with a modern, figure-flattering cut. The Carolyn top features a classic notched collar, curved hem and breast pocket with three sleeve options. For a matching pajama set, choose between a straight-legged pant (with or without cuff) or a cuffed short. Both pants and shorts feature an elasticized waist, pockets and a faux fly. If you've never sewn with piping before, this pattern is a great introduction if you're up to the challenge!

Class Breakdown:
- Cutting Session: Class will start off with a cutting session on Friday, November 7th from 6:30pm-8:30pm. See note** below:
- Garment Construction: Students will work on sewing their garments on Saturday, November 8th + 15th from 10am-4pm each day.

**Important Note - Cutting Session:
Due to the timing of the class, in the cutting session we will be cutting directly off the pattern.  There is no time to trace the pattern in class due to the amount of pattern pieces, however if you prefer to trace the pattern rather than cut it, you will need to complete this step at home prior to the cutting session and arrive to the cutting session prepared (meaning with your pattern traced out).  If you have any questions, please email classes@urbansewciety.com.

** If your sizes fall into the Curve Sizes (14-32), you will need to purchase your PDF pattern directly from Closet Core's website. If you are purchasing a PDF pattern, you will need to download, print, and assemble the pattern together BEFORE attending the cutting session. There is no time allotted in this class session to assemble the pattern.

This 2-week class is suitable for intermediate level sewists who have completed our Garment 101 or have an equivalent experience level successfully sewing a complete out (top and bottom). Students must be able to confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently. Please note, students may be assigned homework to complete at home in between classes in order to finish the project on time.

Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Carolyn Pajamas by Closet Core (Sizes 0-18)
- fabric; please refer to the pattern for accurate sizing information
- 1 yd of fusible interfacing
- 2 yds of 1-1/2" wide elastic
- 5-6 shirt buttons
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
- optional piping - shirt: 3/5 yds, pants/shorts: 2 yds

Required Tools:
- rotary cutter or fabric scissors
- acrylic ruler
- chalk or frixion pen
- pins and/or clips

Recommend Fabric:
- We suggest using light to medium weight woven fabrics, such as cotton flannel, linen, or quilting cottons
- As with all garments, we recommend students wash and dry their fabric prior to the beginning of class.

Cancellation Policy:
If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot.  Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.

No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hours in advance. By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
