You graduated from our Garment 101 class and loved it! You want to keep making clothes but are curious which garment to tackle next? We have the next garment class coming your way! Join us this Fall to make the boho-inspired Roscoe Blouse or Dress by True Bias! It will be a lovely addition to add to your (growing) hand-made wardrobe!
The Roscoe Blouse or Dress by True Bias is an oversized garment with a gathered neckline and raglan sleeves. The front is finished with a center slit and neckties. The sleeves are designed to hit a few inches above the wrist. View A is a blouse, View B is a mini dress or tunic and View C is a dress that hits mid-calf. Views B and C have a large ruffle at the bottom. Students are welcomed to make Views A, B or C during class, but please note that Views B + C may require homework in order to finish the garment on time in class.
This class is suitable for advanced beginner to intermediate students. Perfect for our Garment 101 graduates or for students with a similar experience level. Students must be confident in operating a sewing machine independently.
Required Materials:
- (1) Roscoe Blouse & Dress by True Bias pattern. The pattern accommodates sizes 0-18.
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
- 54" (or wider) of lightweight, woven fabrics (please see recommended fabrics* below)
Required Tools:
- rotary cutter or fabric scissors
- seam ripper
- seam gauge
- tape measure
- pins and/or wonder clips
- chalk or frixion pen
Yardage:
Depends on the size of blouse/dress being made. Please refer to the finished garment measurements in the pattern booklet when choosing your size, and factor in adequate ease. The garment is oversized, so we have found that sizing down two sizes from where you fit with your body measurements works well!
Recommended Fabric:
- We suggest using lightweight, woven fabrics such as rayon, linen or cotton lawn. Your fabric must be 54" or wider.
- As with all garment classes, we recommend prewashing and drying your fabric prior to the start of class!
- We have a wide selection of fabrics to choose from in our shop and our staff are more than happy to help with yardage requirements and fabric selections!
No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hours in advance. By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
