knitting 301 series: pressed flowers shawl

Introducing our next Knitting 301 project just in time for the colder weather - the stunning Pressed Flowers Shawl by Amy Christoffers. This shawl is Amy’s “attempt at preserving all the green grass and flowers for when we need a little sunshine in the depths of winter.” It incorporates mosaic knitting techniques, both written and charted, to achieve a beautiful flower motif. This shawl is the perfect accessory to compliment any outfit!

Students will practice mosaic knitting, reading a knitting chart and provisional cast on. This is an advanced knitting class and is recommended for students who have completed our Knitting 201 class or have equivalent experience level. Class will run for four weeks with a break in between weeks 2 + 3. Please note that there will be homework assigned in between classes to ensure the project is completed on time.

Required Materials:
- Pressed Flowers Pattern (digital download)
- 548 yds of main color (MC)
- 448 yds of contrast color (CC)

Required Tools:
- US 6/4 mm circular 32"
- US 6/4mm circular needle, 32" or longer (knitter's pride 32" or chiaogoo 32" or chiaogoo 40")
- stitch markers
- scrap yarn for provisional cast on

Recommended Yarn:
- Schoppel Edition 3
- Hikoo Sueno Yarn
- Vintage DK Yarn 

Gauge:
20 stitches and 38 rows =4” in pattern stitch after blocking

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot.  Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
