bag series: mod fresh granny tote

Put your quilting and bag-making skills to the next level with this Mod Fresh Granny Tote! This stunning tote features a modern twist on the beloved granny square. In this series, students will reinforce their patchwork, quilting and bag-making techniques. 

During the first class, students will spend time cutting out their fabric and preparing the fabric pieces to size.  There is a 1-week break in between classes, and during this time students will be assigned homework to continue to cut out and prepare the remainder of their fabric at home.  During the second and final class, students will arrive with their fabric ready for final bag construction.  The final measurements of this bag are 15" tall, 13.3/4" wide, and 4" deep.

This 2-week class is suitable for intermediate sewists who have prior basic experience in quilting and bag construction.  Students should have basic understanding of patchwork, quilting and simple bag-making.

Required Materials:
- (1) PDF Pattern: Mod Fresh Granny Tote by Fancy That House
- Flower Petals: (18) 5" squares of 3/8 yd of coordinating fabrics - charm packs work great!
- Flower Centers: (18) 2.5" squares of 1/4 yd of (1) fabric
- Background Fabric: 1 yd
- Lining Fabric: 1 yd - includes binding; if you wish to have the lining and binding be different from each other, use 1 yd of fabric for the lining and 1/8 yd of fabric for the binding
- 1-1/2 yds of 1" leather straps or webbing
- Pellon SF101: (1) piece to cut 38" x 30" or 5/8 yd
- Pellon 987F: (1) piece to cut 38" x 30" or 5/8 yd
- (8) medium sized rivets

We have specially curated Project Kits for purchase in our shop - each kit includes all materials needed to make (1) tote.  PDF Pattern is sold separately through Fancy That House Design's website.

- rotary cutter
- acrylic ruler
- hera marker
- fork pins or regular pins

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot.  Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
