garment series: protea dress
It's time to start getting your summer wardrobe ready.... warm weather IS coming, we promise!
Come sew with us and make the gorgeous Protea dress from Megan Nielsen. This beautiful and versatile garment will prove to be a wardrobe staple this summer!
In class we will be teaching the protea dress in either View A or C. View A is a dress with round neckline, gathered skirt & fitted sleeves. View C is a dress with square neckline, flutter sleeves, tiered gathered skirt & drawstring.
Students should arrive to the class on-time with their fabric pre-cut.
If you need help with your sizing and cutting, we will be offering a cutting session on Friday May 19th at 6.30pm. Register here for the cutting session.
Required materials:
- Megan Nielsen pattern, Protea. Available here
- Fabric yardage depending on size and style being made. We have a wide selection of fabrics to choose from in our shop and our staff are more than happy to help with yardage requirement and fabric selection. The pattern recommends a light to medium weight cotton, lawn, crepe, rayon, chambray or linen fabric.

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hrs in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hrs in advance. By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy
