foundation paper piecing: spring rose pillow
Update your Spring decor with this stunning foundation paper pieced rose pillow by Studio M Squared. We will take you through step by step on how to foundation paper piece, sew the pillow binding as well how to sew an envelope backed pillow.
Unlike English paper piecing, foundation paper piecing is sewn using a sewing machine. It is a piecing method that uses a foundation paper to which all the pieces of fabric are stitched onto, it is particularly useful when wanting to achieve accuracy in piecing and designs with sharp points.
Paper piecing experience is not required we'll teach you the technique and provide lots of helpful tips and tricks for paper piecing success. You will need to be able to independently use a sewing machine.

Color 2: fat eighth (9” x 11”)

Leaves:
Color 1: fat eighth (9” x 11”)
Color 2: fat eighth (9” x 11”)
Background Fabric: 3/8 yard
Backing/Binding Fabric: 1/2 yards

Fusible Fleece: (1) 15” x 15” piece, available here

Required tools
- Add a quarter ruler, we highly recommend this for foundation paper piecing, available here.
- Rotary cutter, cutting mat and acrylic ruler
- Pins and or clips, available here
- Seam ripper
- Washable glue stick
