advanced quilting series: the lonestar

Come join us in January for the start of our advanced quilting series. We will be teaching a beautiful modern twist on the traditional Lonestar quilt pattern.

Over this eight- week series our quilting instructor Mandy will be taking you through the process step by step. You will take your quilting knowledge to the next level by learning a bunch of new skills including how to cut on strips on the bias, sewing on the bias, achieving accurate points as well as creating Y seams. 

Finished quilt size is 57" x 57" or 67" x 67" with a border

During class we will just be making the quilt top, if you need help with finishing your quilt, we will be offering quilt finishing classes that will run in the weeks following this series. Or speak to us about our long-arm quilting services. 

Required materials:
- (11) different quilting cottons. 
color 1 - 1/8 yd
color 2- 1/4 yd
color 3- 1/4 yd
color 4- 1/3 yd
color 5- 1/2 yd
color 6- 1/2 yd
color 7- 1/2 yd
color 8- 1/3 yd
color 9- 1/4 yd
color 10- 1/4 yd
color 11- 1/8 yd

or (1) Jelly Roll for a scrappy look

- Background fabric - 2yds (3yds with optional border) 
- Binding - 1 yd
- Backing - 3 1/4 yds
- Batting - 2yds 
- Spool of coordinating thread

- You will need to use starch spray during the construction of this quilt, available here

Required Tools: 

- Rotary Cutter and Acrylic Ruler
- Pins and/or wonder clips 
- seam ripper
- chalk or friction pen
- detail scissors
- Creative grids stripology quilting ruler (square or XL) is a very useful tool but not required, available here

If you are unable to attend, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hrs in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist for the class, AND we are able to fill your spot.  Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
