This 5-part series is the perfect next step to our knitting 101. Choose your next project from a selection of four specially selected knitting patterns which will build confidence in basic skills.

1. Baby cardigan
You will be taken through the steps of making this simple yet super cute baby cardigan. The pattern is knit from top down and is a raglan construction. It can be made in sizes: Preemie, 0-3, 3-6, 6-12 months. This is a great project for learning increases, decreases and buttonholes.
Required materials (must be purchased in the shop)

- Worsted weight yarn, we recommend Berroco Vintage, Malabrigo Rios. Shop our yarns here.
- Needles, US 6 and US 8 24" circular (available here)
-(3) buttons, sized 5/8"
2. Classic knit hat
This is the perfect first hat project. You will be taken through this project step by step and will be taught knits, purls, rib stitch, decreases and working in the round.
Required materials (must be purchased in the shop)
- (1) Pattern Classic knit hat by Haley Scarpine, free Ravelry download available here.
- Worsted weight yarn, we recommend Cascade 220, Malabrigo Rios, Berroco Vintage. Shop our yarns here.
- Needles, US 8 16" circular and US 8 DPNs.
3. Simple Cowl- Oats
This simple, snuggly cowl by Tin Can Knits builds confidence with working in the round as well as long tail cast on.
Required materials (must be purchased in the shop)
- (1) Pattern Oats Cowl by Tin Can Knits, free Ravelry download avaiable here.
- Needles : Worsted weight - US 8 16" or 32" (for added length version) or DK weight - US 6 16" or 32" for longer version
- Worsted weight, we recommend Cascade 220, Berroco Vintage or Malabrigo Rios, Bulky: Berroco Wizard or Cascade Eco
or DK weight, we recommend Berroco Vintage DK, Malabrigo Arroyo or Berroco Vento.

4. Modern first shawl
The Grain pattern by Tin Can Knits is a triangular shawl knit in the traditional way with increases at the edges & down the center spine. Finished shawl measures 63" wide by 23" long. It can be knit using 1, 2 or 3 colors to create a big cozy shawl. Students knitting this shawl will learn simple increases, how to manage large numbers of stitches, work flat using a circular needle, change color (if needed) and blocking.

- Needles: Worsted weight - US 9 32" or DK weight - US 7 32"

For all our knitting classes, please come to class with your yarn wound ready to knit. We can wind the yarn for you in the shop we just ask that you give us 72hrs notice

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hrs in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
