NOTE: Before entering our After School Program, kids MUST take our Beginner Workshop.
Do not register for the After-School Program unless your child has taken the Beginner Workshop or is registered to take it before the After-School Session begins. Students aged 7 & 8 must attend the Beginner Workshop with an adult; Ages 9+ may attend the Beginner Workshop by themselves. See our Beginner Workshop schedule here.

This is a six-week session of classes for students at all stages of our curriculum (Levels 1 through 4), including brand new students. Students may begin our program at age 7. Learn more about our Curriculum and see all the projects students will make here!
In the Sewciety Kids Sewing Program, students will work through a specific sequence of projects designed by us to develop their sewing ability. Students will explore the whole world of sewing as they learn garment making, bag making, patchwork, embroidery, applique and more! They'll work with many different types of fabric and learn how to choose appropriate fabric for a project. As students progress through the program, they will build upon their skills by tackling more difficult and more detailed projects. In each six-week session students typically make two projects - one decor/accessory type item and one garment. Six week sessions continue in succession, year round from September to June.
Students are required to bring their own tools to class every week. Tool kits can be purchased here (choose either the basic or premium kit):
Note: If your child is signing up for a particular time slot with friends, we will do our very best to keep them together in the same group. Please let us know in advance if you are signing up with a group. Students registered for the same time slot are in our large studio together but may be assigned to different instructors. We adhere strictly to a 4:1 student to teacher ratio; large groups will be split up.
You will receive a registration packet after registering via email. Registration is NOT complete until after this registration packet is received.
For students who would like to come on a continual basis, we highly recommend you register for Auto-Pay - this is the only way to secure your child's spot for your preferred date and time from session to session. All Auto-Pay details will be in the registration packet.
For any siblings registering, we offer a 5% discount. Please call the store to register siblings.
Kids’ Class Cancellation Policy:
If your child is unable to attend the class/course/camp:
- You may receive a refund ONLY if we are notified in writing (via email – sewcietykids@urbansewciety.com) at least SEVEN DAYS prior to the start date of the class/course, AND there is a waitlist for the class AND we are able to fill your child’s spot. Absolutely no refunds will be provided unless these conditions are met.
- If we are notified in writing (via email – sewcietykids@urbansewciety.com) at least SEVEN DAYS prior to the start date of the class/course, and we are unable to fill your spot, you will receive a store credit for the full registration amount. This credit will expire 9 months from the date of issuance and is only good for class registrations, not retail product.
- If we are notified less than one week prior to the start date of the course/class, absolutely no refund or credit will be issued.
