bag series: raspberry rucksack for adults and teens
Join us on a Tuesday night for this four-week series of fun sewing and make the Raspberry rucksack by Sarah Kirsten.
The pattern is available in two sizes, the Little Raspberry is the perfect mini size for an everyday bag. The Big Raspberry is roomy and suitable for a school book bag or work bag. Both sizes feature a handy lined front pop out pocket and wide opening of the main compartment offering easy access to items at the bottom of the bag.
This class is open to both adults and teens and is suitable for intermediate sewists. You must have prior bag sewing experience. If you have been through our sewciety kids program, you must have completed level 2.

Required Materials
- (1) Raspberry rucksack pattern by Sarah Kirsten, digital download available here
- Outer fabric (little) 1/2 yd, (big) 3/4 yd. Fabric for the big size must be at least 50" wide. We recommend heavyweight cotton canvas or waxed canvas. We have a wide selection of fabrics in the shop and are more than happy to help advise on your fabric selection.
- Lining (little) 1/2 yd, (big) 3/4 yd. We recommend quilting cotton.
- Interfacing SF101 (little) 1 yd, (big) 1- 1/2 yd
- 3 1/2 yds 1" cotton webbing we have a wide selection and color choice available in the shop. Tula pink striped webbing available here.
- (2) 1" Flat strap slider (available here)
- (1) single pull zipper, 7" (little) or 9" (big)
- (1) double pull bag zipper 22" (little) or 32" (big). We recommend purchasing the zipper by the yard set which covers all zippers for this project. Available here
- 1/2 " Double fold bias tape, 40"(little), 1-1/2 yds (big) (available here)
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
- Rotary Cutter (available here) and Acrylic Ruler OR Fabric scissors
- Pins and/or wonder clips (available here )

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hrs in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
