bag series: make a tote bag
Have you completed your Sewing 101 course and are looking for your next project? We have the answer for you!
Come join us to make the "tote-ally easy" tote bag from our very own Studio M Squared patterns. In class, we will be making the Market Tote (the pattern offers the choice of two tote types). The market tote is fully lined and features boxed bottoms. The fusible interfacing gives the bag some structure and sturdiness, while still being lightweight enough to fold up and store away!
This class offers the next step in sewing, reinforcing what was learned in Sewing 101. Students will learn new techniques to expand their sewing abilities, while making something both practical and beautiful.
Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Tote-ally Easy by Studio M Squared
- (1) Project Kit: Tote-ally Easy Market Tote Kit - these kits are specially curated for this class. They include all the required fabric, interfacing and webbing for the handle. All you will need to add is a spool of coordinating thread.
Alternatively, if you do not wish to purchase a kit, you will need:
- exterior fabric: 1/3 yd
- accent fabric: 1/4 yd
- lining fabric: 1/2 yd
- fusible interfacing: 1-3/4 yds - we recommend using Pellon SF101
- 1-1/2 yds of 1-1/2" webbing
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
Required Tools:
- fabric scissors + detail scissors
- pins and/or wonder clips
- seam ripper
- chalk or frixion pen

If you are unable to attend, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email, there is a waitlist for the class, AND we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
No refunds or credits will be provided if you notify us less than 72 hours in advance. By registering for the class, you are agreeing to this cancellation policy.
