knitting series 301: introduction to colorwork

Colorwork knitting, also known as Fair Isle is recognizable by allover patterning or bands of color and pattern. One of the many reasons why we love this technique is that it creates the look of an intricate fabric but is actually simple to work.

During this 2-week series we will take you through the colorwork technique whilst making this beautiful intricately patterned hat. We will also discuss tips on how to read the pattern charts.
Once you have mastered this project you will be ready to move onto our more advanced colorwork classes.

Required materials:

 - (2) Skein of worsted weight yarn. You need two contrasting colors for this project, 1 skein of each color. We recommend using Cascade 220 (available here
