knitting series 301 : my first sweater

This sweater is worked in the round, top down, with raglan shaping. It is a classic design that will suit everyone - make it in any size, for anyone, as the pattern includes sizing from infants 0-6 months up to adult 5XL.

Once you have mastered the basic skills learned in this class you will be able to knit it multiple times making each project unique by adding stripes & other design elements.

If this is your first sweater we highly recommend making 6-12 months, 1-2 years or 2-4 years as there will be homework between classes & the bigger the sweater the bigger the homework assignment!

In class students will also learn how to:

- longtail cast on (a refresher if you already know how to)
- knitting in the round
- how to join your work seamlessly
- left & right leaning increases to create the raglan shaping
- how to read a knitting pattern
- tips on how to keep track of progress
- hints & tips on choosing the right size
- weaving in ends
- blocking your finished sweater
