garment class: melanie kimono

This class is great for sewists of all levels - including confident beginners! Join us to make this versatile garment that can be made from so many fabric types and worn in any season.

The Melanie kimono has a sash, generous patch pockets and three-quarter sleeves. This is a knee-length and loose-fitting design that can be used as loungewear or over garments or even as a jacket or cardigan in a heavier fabric.

We're making our sample using Ruby Star Society Warp and Weft Diamonds navy available here. Picture it as a beach cover up or over a white t-shirt and denim shorts, the perfect outfit for a summer day.

This pattern includes 27 sizes ranging from toddlers to women's plus sizes, so once you've made one for yourself, make them for your whole fam!  This class is suitable for students who have completed our Sewing 101 or equivalent level of experience and are comfortable independently operating a sewing machine.
