garment workshop: rio ringer t-shirt

The Rio Ringer T-Shirt and Dress is the perfect garment for any level of sewist! Come take this one-day workshop and enhance your skills by using a pattern, working with knits and the simple construction to garment-making. 

The Rio has two views. View A is a semi fitted t-shirt with a crew neckline and short sleeves. The neckline and sleeves are all bound with ribbing for that nod to vintage. View B has the same look except it is lengthened into an easy to wear t-shirt dress. This pattern comes in three size ranges – 0-18 (C cup), 14-30 (D cup), and a kids range of 2T – 10 years old - so you can make it for just about anyone! 


Here's what you for the class:

• Pattern - you can purchase a hard copy here for sizes 0-18, here for sizes 14-30, and here for kids' sizes. 
• Light to medium weight knit fabric (yardage determined by your size) 
• Coordinating polyester thread 
• Stretch sewing machine needle 

Suggested Main Fabrics: 
Light to medium weight knit fabrics with 40% or more stretch such as cotton interlock, T-shirt jersey, and merino wool jersey.

Suggested Binding Fabrics: 
Light to medium weight knit fabrics with 75% or more stretch such as rib knit.

Tools Needed: 
- Fabric scissors
- Pins and/or wonder clips
- seam ripper
- chalk or friction pen
- detail scissors

We have modified our classes to comply with the CDC guidelines and NJ Executive Order 152. Class sizes are limited, masks are required, and students are required to supply their own tools as identified in the tools list within the class description. Class is suitable for students who have completed our beginner sewing workshop.
