quilting skill builder: block 2 flying geese

This is our second class of our quilting skill builder series...

In each of our series of five classes students will learn a new quilting skill that they can apply in building a block.

Attend all the classes in the series and you will have five beautiful blocks which you can replicate and build into a quilt, alternatively pick and choose the blocks which interest you and just attend those classes....the quilting world is your oyster!

In this class students will be learning how to make flying geese. Students will learn what flying geese are, how to construct them, how to properly trim them, and importantly with quilting....how to save time by making four at a time.

Required Materials:
(1) FQ of background fabric
(3) 1/8yd or FQs of contrasting fabrics
(1) spool coordinating thread

Note: if you intend to complete all five blocks in the series, and wish to do so with the same fabrics you will need the following quantities:
(1) 3/4 yd of background quilting cotton
(4) 1/4yd of coordinating quilting cotton

Required Tools: 
- Rotary Cutter and Acrylic Ruler
- Pins
- seam ripper
- chalk or friction pen
- basting spray
- detail scissors

We have modified our classes to comply with the CDC guidelines and NJ Executive Order 152. Classes will be limited in student numbers, their stations will be at least 6 feet away from each other and masks will be required, so please ensure you bring one. In addition, students are required to supply their own tools as identified in the tools list within the class description.
