spring break camp: learn to sew
Has your child shown an interest in learning to sew?
Have you struggled to find time after school to fit it in?
We have the answer for you!
Day 1 of camp, kids will complete our Beginner Workshop, in which they'll learn how to operate the sewing machine and make a drawstring bag. Then they will move onto complete Level 1: Unit 1 our After School Program projects, including a striped patchwork pillow and an upcycled t-shirt. This camp will provide the basis for your kids to be able to attend After School classes or one-day workshops in the future...all your problems solved at once!
All materials are included in the cost of the camp. All the kids need to bring each day are the tools identified below in the Required Tools list, a mask and a snack. Tool kits are available for purchase in our shop, or online here.
This class is suitable for students 7 years and up. Absolutely no prior experience is required.
Required Tools:
- Fabric scissors
- Frixion pen
- Seam ripper
- pins (and or wonder clips)
- detail scissors
We have modified our classes to comply with the CDC guidelines and NJ Executive Order 152. Classes will be limited in size, students' stations will be at least 6 feet away from each other and students will be required to wear a mask.
We cannot wait to introduce your child to sewing!
