Want to start sewing garments?  This is a great place to start!  This simple top is perfect for beginners looking to add a handmade touch to their wardrobe.  This class is a two part series; in the first class you'll learn how to take your measurements and determine your size and how to use a pattern.  Then you'll cut your fabrics out and start constructing the top.  In class 2 you'll complete the blouse while learning about finishing seams, using elastic, hemming, and making a bias binding.  

+Materials Needed: 

  • 45” wide // if making sizes XS - M // 1.88 yards
  • 45” wide // if making size L - XXL // 2.25 yards
  • 54-60” wide // all sizes // 1.5 yards
  • 2 yards, 3/8" wide elastic 
  • 1 spool of polyester thread 
  • 1 yard packaged bias tape or buy about 1/4 yard extra fabric and make your own

IMPORTANT: Please pre-wash and dry your fabric before coming to the first class to "get the shrink out."

Skill Details: Students must be comfortable independently operating a sewing machine, but garment sewing experience not required.
