The Cathedral Window is a classic quilting block inspired by historic church and cathedral stained glass windows and became popular in North America in the 1930s.  This traditional method is unparalleled in its design and construction and the results will WOW you!   The "windows" create a perfect way to showcase pretty florals or fussy-cut novelty prints.  Many cathedral window methods require hand-sewing but in this class we'll show you a method that is entirely machine sewn.  The finished cathedral window block is approximately 19" x 19".

Materials needed:
1-1/4 yards background fabric
(24) 3-1/2" squares of coordinating prints
1 spool of thread
Optional (but very helpful!):  Stiletto tool

*Register for our Pillow Backing follow-up class to make your block into an heirloom-quality pillow.

Note: The fabric quantities listed above are for the 19" block only; additional fabrics will be required depending on how you use the block in a completed project.  For example, if making a pillow cover, an additional 5/8 yard of fabric will be needed for the pillow backing.
