intro to embroidery

Learn to embroider!  Embroidery is a timeless craft that can be applied in so many ways - create beautiful decor for your home, or embellish sewing projects with unique designs.  In this class, students will make a 6" pumpkin sampler just in time for Thanksgiving (need a hostess gift?!)

Learn to prepare fabric, transfer designs, choose floss/thread, read a pattern, and work 7 basic stitches.  No previous sewing or embroidery experience necessary for this class, making it perfect for beginners or students interested in fine tuning
foundation embroidery skills. Each student will need to bring the following supplies:

• (1) 6” embroidery hoop
• (1-2) Golden Eye Chenille Needles (No. 24)
• (1) Small piece of felt or container to hold needles
• (1) 9” x 9” square of fabric – preferably Essex Linen Blend (or another type of linen/linen blend)

Kits containing the above materials will be available for purchase in our shop.  In additions, students will need:

• (5-7) Skeins of floss, autumn colors recommended

The pumpkin pattern and instruction sheet are included in the cost of the class.
